Anne Morgan

Anne Morgan is a children's writer and poet.

Anne has won several poetry awards including the Orange Arts Council 1999 Banjo Paterson Poetry Award.

Born in Tasmania, Anne has spent most of her life there, but moved to Perth, WA, in 2004 to complete a PhD in Creative Writing at Edith Cowan University.

Anne's poetry chapbook,'Echoes from the Firetrails', was published by Tom Collins House, Swanbourne, WA in 2004. Anne also writes children's books,including 'The Glow Worm Cave' and the 'Captain Clawbeak' series.

Books by Anne Morgan

Anne Morgan's first children's picture story, The Glow Worm Cave, illustrated by Belinda Kurczok, was published by Aboriginal Studies Press, Canberra in 1999. The Glow Worm Cave was shortlisted for the Wilderness Society's Environmental Children's Literature Award in 2000 and awarded a golden gumnut (outstanding book of its kind) in Reading Time (December 1999), the Children's Book Council of Australia's journal.

Her recent foray into the children's 'grunge' genre was rewarded with the recent publication of Warts 'n' All, illustrated by Judith Rossell.

She also has a contract for a children's book series with Random House.
