Born in Latrobe, Graeme Hetherington
grew up in the mining towns on the remote
west coast of Tasmania.
After attending
Launceston Grammar School, he
studied at the University of Tasmania,
and became one of the youngest
lecturers to be appointed there
- he taught Classics until his retirement
in the mid-80s. Many younger Tasmanian
poets were taught by Graeme Hetherington,
among them Stephen Edgar.
Graeme has spent many years travelling in
Europe, and lived
in Greece for several years.
NEW! A Tasmanian Paradise Lost
has been launched in July 2003.
