Ivy Alvarez grew up in Hobart, Tasmania.
In mid-2002, Slow Joe Crow Press (Melbourne) published
a limited-edition chapbook of her work, Food for Humans.
Her poetry is published in Australia, Canada, the US and
online, in magazines such as New England Review, Famous
Reporter, Jones Av. (Canada)
Ivy Alvarez received a commendation in the Daffodil Day
Arts Awards for Poetry and participated in a Development
Forum at the Varuna Writers Centre (Sydney, NSW) in 2001.
In 2000, she won the Great Age Melbourne Writers' Festival
Poetry Slam and received an Arts Tasmania Start-Up Youth
Grant to develop Call Me Ephemeral.
