The younger Julie Hunt

Julie Hunt

I was born in Burnie, Tasmania in 1958, and now live near Cygnet. My poetry has appeared in Overland, Island, Famous Reporter, Westerly, Going Down Swinging and I've had two children's books published.

I have a diploma of Professional Writing and Editing from RMIT and work as a graphic designer. I received a grant from the Australia Council's Literature Board in 2003 to write and illustrate a third children's book, The Coat.

For me, picture book texts are a lot like poems. I am interested in the crossover between the two forms.
