OUT OF LOVE POEMS
I'm out of love poems.
after the endless outpour,
the passion, the burned out fire
and mind-confusion,
I'd need a word-transfusion
to get the love-flow back.
I've written about love's discovery
right through to its bitter end;
of my recovery
and of that new plateau
where we can now be friends.
There'll be no more words about ecstasy
or fantasy or flights of fancy ...
or those black holes I climbed out of.
It's not that I've lost the knack,
it's just that I'm taking another tack.
I'm writing in-love-with-life poems.
