The Write Stuff vol. 7

Trust Me:
You know where I am coming from

On my honour I promise
that I am here for the long haul
and even though I move
from a comfort zone
to a steep learning curve
my playing field will
paradoxically be level
and my goal posts will not move.

I will name up the issues
without fear or favour
and then I will address them
through focus groups
target groups
working parties
taskforces and overarching committees.

There is no way known
that I will compare apples with oranges.
I will not rearrange the deck chairs on the
Titanic, nor will I reinvent the wheel
even though I work off the side of my desk,
at the end of the day
when push comes to shove
I will not die in a ditch.
