The Write Stuff vol. 7

Office Comedian

I’m a bit of a stirrer, a bit of a rebel
I like a good laugh,
mad sense of humour.
The other day for example I took down
one of those butch women at the office
you know the sort can’t get a man
all they need’s a good
you know, can’t say, ladies present.
Told her I’d seen a memo
she was listed for special promotion.

She took us all out for lunch then
I spilt the beans.
Said I’d misread the name.
She hasn’t spoken since, women are like that,
can’t laugh at themselves.
I’m in for promotion myself, won’t get it of course.
Someone like me rocks the boat –
too many good ideas, people get jealous;
I don’t answer to anyone, I’m my own man,
a bit of a stirrer you see
a bit of a rebel.

Still, it’s a great life as long as you don’t weaken
